The Syrian Turkmen Student Union was established on February 15, 2024, with the goal of uniting Syrian Turkmen students under one organization, ensuring their unity and solidarity. It serves Turkmen students who are pursuing their education in the regions controlled by the Republic of Turkey, specifically in the areas of the Euphrates Shield, Olive Branch, and Peace Spring operations. The Union is committed to the eternal existence, welfare, and both material and spiritual well-being of these students, helping them achieve equal rights as members of the community.
Purpose
The Syrian Turkmen Student Union aims to bring together, organize, and foster solidarity among Turkmen students. It seeks to address and enhance students' needs in education, health, sports, and cultural activities. The Union operates to defend the rights and interests of Turkmen students in both Turkey and Syria, organizing educational, cultural, and social activities. It works under the umbrella of the Syrian Turkmen Assembly, aligning its activities in Turkey and Syria with the policies and goals of the Assembly.
Objectives
- Organize seminars, workshops, and training programs to contribute to the leadership and personal development of Turkmen students.
- Collaborate with other student unions and international organizations to be the voice of Turkmen students and defend their rights.
- Assist Turkmen students with career planning and provide internship opportunities.
- Offer scholarships, educational materials, and supportive services to Syrian Turkmen students residing in Syria.
- Increase solidarity and mutual aid among students and organize social events.
Membership
- Any Turkmen student wishing to join the Syrian Turkmen Student Union can apply by accepting the Union's bylaws.
- All Turkmen students aged 18 and above are eligible to join.
- High school students under the age of 18 may participate depending on the nature of the activities.
Membership termination can occur at the member's request.
